Dear Red Hatters,

Halloween has come and gone in a whirlwind, like it always seems to do, and next week those of us in the U.S. will be sitting down to Thanksgiving dinner. (You Canadians always beat us to the punch!) But, since Hatquarters is still receiving (and enjoying) stories and photos of Halloween hi-jinks from our various chapters, we still find ourselves in that mindset.

Not only do we hear about RHS chapter activities, we hear of many instances in which little girls have chosen to trick or treat in Red Hat regalia. It's doubtful that many people have to ask what these children are supposed to be. Almost everyone seems to know what their costume represents – the RHS.

Actually, the red and purple regalia is seen as a "costume" by most people – even when we grown-ups are wearing it. In a way it is. But in another very real way, it isn't at all. Our red and purple (even when worn without bling or feathers) is a badge of membership. But it is not a mask. When we wear our colors we are giving an outward indication of who we really are inside: fun-loving, cheerful women who are loaded with vitality and always ready for a good time. Sure we're dressing up, but we sure aren't in disguise!

While we're on the subject of vitality and good times, it's easy to transition right into other happy thoughts, don't you think? So, bring on Thanksgiving! And while we're listing our blessings, let's not forget to be thankful for the sisterhood we've found together.

In friendship,
Sue Ellen and Debra, and all of us at Hatquarters

In observance of Thanksgiving, Hatquarters will be closed on Thursday and Friday, November 26 and 27.

A Message From Alpha Hydrox!

A little simplification would be the first step toward rational living, I think.
             Eleanor Roosevelt (My Days)

Mrs. Roosevelt was a very smart lady. Far too often in today's world things are just too complicated. Everything seems to require too much time, too many steps, and too much money for too little return.

We are all tired of being sold things that don't work and are full of empty promises. There are companies and people out there that are "tried and true," the real deal. At Alpha Hydrox, we are really trying to simplify skin care with products that really work. To see our great lines of simple skin care, click here!
