Healthy eating doesn't have to be boring! What's your favorite healthy snack?
- Donna Gorman, The Foxy Red Hat Sisters (Jefferson Township, Pennsylvania, United States):
- I just love apple slices , drizzled with a bit of honey or maple syrup, and sprinkled with a touch of cinnamon. It has all the necessities--sweetness, crunch, and a bit of spice to make for one lovely snacking experience, plus it is healthy and low in calories too.
- Barbara Cutcher, Lakeview Hatters (Toledo, Ohio, United States):
- I snack on fruits, apples or pears are great. They satisfy the need for the chewing sensation and they are filling.
- Colleen Nelson, Ruby RedHat's Ramblers (Internet only):
- Lowfat Babybel cheese and fresh fruit.
- Lee Carlson, Norfolk Hattitudes (Norfolk, Arkansas, United States):
- Fresh Veggies!!! I can eat fresh veggies anytime. Actually, I prefer my veggies raw, rather than cooked. Especially rutabaga and cauliflower--YUM! And if I'm lucky, I will pour some Bleu Cheese dressing in a bowl, and use that as a dip--Yum, again.
- Ruby Victory, Ruby's Southern Treasures (Vilonia, Arkansas, United States):
- Fat free popcorn.
- Catherine Huffman, Ventana Red Hat Vixens (Peoria, Arizona, United States):
- Fresh fruit
- Opal Burgess, The Red Hot Flutterbye's (Peoria, Illinois, United States):
- Veggie sticks with low cal Ranch dressing. Something quick and filling before, during or after a meal.
