This Week's Story

The queens Theatrix from Deventer, Theador from Nijmegen, Yell from Lochum, and Corinne from Arnhem and some chapterettes visited the Casino in Nijmegen, Holland to try to win money for a cruise. But the only one winning was Queen Yel from Lochum, who invited the other ladies to join her for a glass of wine. The chapterettes had fun being entertained by their charming croupier; they report that they left with no money, but a lot of fun!

There's lots of fun stuff to see on these maps! Click on Red Hat to see the story and photo of the week. You can click anywhere on the map and, by holding down the mouse, drag it to other nearby locations.

At the top right of the map, you'll see three buttons labeled "Map," "Satellite," and "Earth."

Clicking "Map" will show you a map of the area, with streets and landmarks clearly labeled.

Clicking "Satellite" will give you a satellite image of the area, so you can get a real bird's eye view!

Clicking "Earth" will show you a global shot-just look for Red Hats to see the Hatters' location!

When you see a Red Hat on the map, click on it to see what Hatters' been up to! In the bubble that appears, click on the word "Ruby" to see her profile and maps!

One of the greatest attributes of the Red Hat Society is the diversity of the women who participate. We are all Hatters, and we come from every language, continent, and walk of life. It's time to celebrate the many faces of the Red Hat Sisterhood!

We'd love to see pictures and stories, particularly from our international Hatters! Here's how to participate:

  1. Take a picture of yourself in your red (or pink!) hat in front of a landmark. You can use a well-known landmark, like the Eiffel Tower or Big Ben, or a more locally known location: just as long as it can be found on a map!
  2. Email your picture to HattersAroundTheWorld@hatquarters.com. We need high-quality jpeg files, and vertical pictures are preferred over horizontal.
  3. Tell your story. We need to know your name, your chapter name and number, the story of the landmark, and what you did while there.

We pick a new picture at random every week, so be sure to check back often. Your picture could end up on the front page of the RHS website!
