I was locked out of the site for a couple of days. I missed #ThriftyThursday again, BUT I am back now with a new #FinallyFriday drink recipe. Let’s try this one for New Year’s Eve!

    PINK CHAMPAGNE SANGRIA

This fun sangria recipe is Pink Moscato Champagne mixed with grapefruit juice, pomegranate juice, and mint simple syrup. It’s seriously delicious!

    Ingredients

    1/2 cup water

    1/2 cup sugar

    1/2 cup fresh mint chopped

2 cups ruby red grapefruit juice

    1 cup Pomegranate juice

1 bottle Barefoot Bubbly Pink Moscato

sliced grapefruit pomegranate arils, and fresh mint for garnish

    Instructions

    1. Heat water, sugar, and chopped mint in a small saucepan over medium/high heat. Bring to a boil and then reduce to a simmer, stirring occasionally. Allow to simmer for about 10 minutes. Set aside.

    2. In a pitcher, combine the mint simple syrup (made in the saucepan above), both juices, and the full bottle of Bubbly Pink Moscato. Stir to combine.

    3. Add ample grapefruit slices and pomegranate arils into the pitcher.

    4. Chill until ready to serve, at least 2 hours.

    5. Enjoy! 8 Servings

    So this week’s #FinallyFriday cocktail recipe is……..

    Jameson Old Fashioned

What do you need to know about making a Jameson Old Fashioned?

    · Don’t over-sweeten the cocktail, you want the flavor of the whiskey to shine through.

    · A large ice cube is highly recommended. This keeps the drink from becoming watered down, so the last sip is just as tasty as the first sip.

    · We prefer angostura bitters, but orange bitters also work, if that’s your preference.

    · Don’t over shake the cocktail, again, you don’t want it too watered down. This is supposed to be a boozy drink.

    · If Jameson is not your whiskey of choice, try Woodford Reserve or Makers Mark. They are also excellent choices.

Jameson Old Fashioned is a classic, simple to make cocktail that will warm you from the inside out on the chilliest of days. Combine whiskey, agave and bitters with ice in a cocktail shaker.

Shake cocktail for about 30 seconds.

Pour into 2 short cocktail glasses filled with ice. (preferably 1 large ice cube)

Twist orange peels and add to glasses.

    Ingredients

    · 4 oz Jameson whiskey

    · 1 tbsp agave nectar

    · 6 dashes angostura or orange bitters

    · ice

    · 2 strips of orange peel

    Instructions

Combine whiskey, agave and bitters with ice in a cocktail shaker.

Shake cocktail for about 30 seconds.

Pour into 2 short cocktail glasses filled with ice. (preferably 1 large ice cube)

Twist orange peels and add to glasses.

    Enjoy!
